image of badger awareness courseESL were commissioned by the Environment Agency (EA) to provide some badger awareness courses to their staff and these were undertaken in Lincoln and near Peterborough during March 2017.

The main aims of the courses were to make EA staff aware of what signs of badger activity to look out for and also what work they can do near to badger setts with or without the appropriate licence being in place.
For the Peterborough-based course, staff members from the local Internal Drainage Board (IDB) were also involved.

The course structure comprised a morning indoor session involving a PowerPoint presentation and various props and then in the afternoon a known local badger sett was visited to enable course attendees to see badger activity signs for themselves.
