BREEAM

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings and includes the Code for Sustainable Homes. A Code rating under the Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) is now mandatory for all new build homes.

ESL’s capabilities cover the requirements for evaluating against all ecology credit assessment criteria, LE3 upto LE8, across the entire range of standard buildings and bespoke assessments, as well as credits Eco 1 to 4 under the CfSH. This includes, where applicable, production of management plans to achieve credits under LE6, consultation with students and staff for credits under LE7 (education) and facilitation of the forming of a local wildlife partnership for credits under LE8 (education). ESL’s Suitably Qualified Ecologists (SQE) can advise on the number of credits likely to be achieved and on how to increase or maximise the number of credits obtainable for any given scheme. All final assessments are compliant with the appropriate schedule of evidence requirements and guidelines laid out in the relevant BREEAM assessor manuals.
