Habitat Design and Creation

ESL is fully equipped to carry out the groundworks involved in any ecological project. Tasks undertaken range from erection, maintenance and removal of amphibian and reptile fencing, through building hibernacula and replacement badger setts, to excavation, lining and planting-up new ponds and lakes.

Our fencing is made specially for us, to our own design, and our supervisors all hold great crested newt licences.

A number of ESL staff are also qualified to use chain-saws and brush-cutters for woodland work and are trained in dry stone walling, hedge-laying and coppicing. All tree-workers are trained and licensed bat-handlers.
